Last year’s OnePlus flagship, the 10 series, did not have a non-Pro model but this year’s follow-up, the 11 series, actually has a non-Pro model and it is already touted as its “first flagship smartphone of 2023.” Hearing that, you know it is top spec-ed, making you wonder if there ever will be a Pro model.
Anyhoo, the new OnePlus 11 5G is rocking a “refined” Hasselblad camera system on a striking circular camera module, featuring a chromed-out, stainless steel camera module, said to be inspired by the “black hole”. It is a camera module that draws attention to its imaging capability backed by Hasselblad’s 13-channel multi-spectral sensor for light-color identification.
Speaking of imaging, the main snapper is a triple camera setup comprising a Sony IMX890 50 MP main sensor, a Sony IMX709 32 MP portrait lens, and a Sony IMX581 48 MP ultra-wide camera. Meanwhile, a 16 MP 5P lens selfie camera can be found at the corner of the 120 Hz 6.7-inch Samsung 2K+ (3,216 x 1,440 resolution) fluid AMOLED display with LTPO 3.0.
This being a flagship, it is naturally powered by the most powerful mobile platform there is today, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. Similarly, it has the fastest memories available today. It is outfitted with up to 16 GB LPDDR5X RAM with an advanced RAM management system for better multi-tasking and gaming AND up to 512 GB UFS 4.0 storage.
5G radios come standard. So is Bluetooth 5.3 and tri-band Wi-Fi 6, and you know, the usuals. It has a 5,000 mAh duel-cell battery and a 100 W SUPERVOOC fast charging system. The rest of the spec sheet details are pretty rudimentary for a flagship device.
The OnePlus 11 5G is announced for the China market where it is available to order in 12 + 256, 16 + 256, and 16 + 512 configurations, with an affordable starting price of 3,999 yuan (which is about US$581 based on today going rate).[UPDATE February 08, 2023, 8:17 AM PT] The OnePlus 11 5G (stylized as 115G) is officially launched in the U.S. It is available to order now in a choice of Eternal Green or Titan Black and in 8 + 128 GB (US$699) and 16 + 256 GB (US$799).
