Oppo F11Pro Avengers Edition in Malaysia

Amid the excitement over the 10x lossless zoom phone put out by Oppo, it is easy to overlook that was a new noteworthy device from the Chinese handset maker just a month prior. It was pop-up selfie camera phone called Oppo F11Pro. No. It not quite a flagship phone, if that’s what you are wondering. But that does not make it any less interesting.

The new F11Pro is photography focused. Then again, it isn’t that true for almost any phone that had debuted over last two years or so? It is beautiful phone, but not without caveat: it is 8.8 mm thick and yet, it still has a slight rear camera bump. That’s really bummer. However, the thickness is inevitable for a device with motorized pop-up camera. Well, at least it is not as thick Find X which had a grand 9.6 mm profile. But I have to say, the joy of no camera is wondrous.

Oppo F11Pro Smartphone

Anywho… the F11pro is powered by a 12 nm process MediaTek Helio P70 chip featuring an octacore processor (4x 2.1 GHz Cortex-A73 and 4x 2.0 GHz Cortex-A53) and Mali-G72 MP3 GPU. Oppo F11pro touts a dual camera setup around the back that packs a 48 MP and a 5 MP camera. The 48 MP is a 1/2.25-inch sensor with 1.6μm pixel size, 6P lens, f1.79 aperture, and features ball-bearing closed-loop VCM (basically, a type of optical image stabilization).

As for the selfie camera, it also boast a 16 MP shooter with a 1/3.1 sensor paired to a f2.0 lens. On the imaging software front, the 48 MP camera is bolstered by AI Ultra-clear Engine that enables ultra night mode and a thing called dazzle color mode. Despite the camera prowess, neither the front nor rear makes 4K video. 1080p is the best this baby has to offer.

Other hard specs include a 6.5-inch FHD+ (2,340 x 1,080 pixels; 397 ppi) TFT-LTPS display, 6 GB RAM, 64 GB ROM, a 4,000 mAh battery, VOOC Flash Charge 3.0, dual SIM support, and the usual bunch of sensors and connectivity. The Oppo F11Pro is available in select countries in Africa, Middle East and Asia, including Malaysia which it is selling 1,299 Ringgit (about US$314).

Oppo F11Pro Avengers Edition in Malaysia

Speaking of Malaysia, we heard a special Marvel’s Avengers Limited Edition F11Pro will be available in the country on April 24, coinciding with the movie release in the country. Little is known about this still elusive device, but as per the image we saw, the device will feature a partial Avengers logo in red against a blue background with subtle patterns that look like Captain America suit.

As with such movie tie-in, it is unlikely that it will have any spec difference. Instead, it will probably get Avengers-themed UI and at most, a special packaging and/or extras like Avengers-themed goodies. But this not being a high-end device, I don’t see the latter happening.
