i am not so much of a fan for gold plated stuff (yes, i said that many times) but this rare gold plated Luger pistol with intricate engraving and carved ivory presentation grips caught my eyes in an instant. made by Krieghoff Heinrich Gun Co., the pistol will go under the hammer at the upcoming Premier Collector’s Firearms Auction (May 20-22) organized by auction house, Rock Island Auction Company (RIA). it is said that this rare firearm still has 98 percent of its original gold-plated finish and has an estimated price tag of between $50,000 to $100,000. check out a few more images of this stunning work of art after the break.
over 2,700 lots will be up for auction which includes antiques and collectibles manufactured by Colt, Winchester, Holland & Holland, among the many others. also in the auction is an extremely rare Colt 2nd Model Dragoon revolver manufactured in 1851 and the Winchester Model 1886 50 Express Smoothbore Lever Action Rifle.
