The Renault 5 Prototype EV that was inspired by the original Renault 5 we saw in 2019 has now become the Renault 5 E-Tech Electric. This modern tribute to the classic car is launched in time to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the iconic model.

This new-generation vehicle, priced starting at around €25,000 (about US$27,345), is part of Renault’s “Renaulution” strategy, highlighting the company’s shift towards electric mobility and sustainable production.

Manufactured entirely in France, the Renault 5 E-Tech Electric showcases a “retrofuturistic” design, integrating advanced electrical and digital technology, including a unique AC bidirectional charger compatible with V2L and V2G technologies, and three power ratings for the motor: 110, 90, and 70 kW.

It offers a range of up to 400 km (249 miles) WLTP, and features the latest generation OpenR Link system with Google built-in, along with various safety and comfort innovations.

Set to be produced in Douai, France, the Renault 5 E-Tech Electric aims to achieve an 85% recyclability level, incorporating recycled materials and bio-sourced elements, marking a significant step towards sustainable mobility.
