Robosen Lightyear Space Ranger Robot Toy

Robosen is a robot company best known for transforming robots like the Robosen Optimus Prime. But its latest product is a non-transforming robot that will give UBTech a run for its money. For its latest product, Robosen has teamed up with Disney and Pixar to bring Space Ranger Buzz Lightyear from Pixar’s Lightyear film to life.

The Space Ranger Buzz Lightyear is not only screen accurate. Thanks to over 50 microchips and 23 high-precision servo motors, it promised to have fluid mobility. With advanced algorithms and 4 programming modes (voice, block-based, manual, and 3D software), this 42 cm (16.5 inches) tall collectible robot is able to execute a myriad of movement actions.

To complement the array of movement actions, this little guy here is equipped with all standard-issue Space Tanger tools (Laser Blade DX, Space Ranger Blaster, and Laser Gauntlet), 5 pairs of interchangeable hands (so, no, it does not have articulated fingers, unfortunately), and a couple of interchangeable faces. Also included is a Personal Companion Sox figure.

There’s a catch though. Save for Sox and the interchangeable faces, the aforementioned accessories are only available with the more expensive Buzz Lightyear Infinity Pack. The Buzz Lightyear Infinity Pack also includes an auto-converting magnetic XL-15 jetpack featuring dual nozzles with four color options for propulsion jet and a serialized no. dog tag.

All told, it has over 200 preloaded sound effects and action programs. More features and actions can be unlocked with OTA firmware updates over WiFi. Furthering the realism is the intelligent conversation system that features smart voice recognition and lightning-fast response.

You will be able to converse with Buzz through ambiguous voice and semantic recognition technology without the need to recall specific command words, so it feels like you are talking to an actual person. Control of Buzz is using a mobile app on your smartphone via Bluetooth 5.0 LE.

Both the regular edition, known as Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Alpha and the Buzz Lightyear Infinity Pack comes with a Space Ranger stand for hands-free poses.

The Robosen Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger robot toy will hit the market in Spring 2023 (Q2 2023) with the standard edition going for US$799 and the collector’s limited edition with a retail price of US$999. However, you can enjoy a savings of US$150 and US$250 for the Alpha (US$649) and Infinity Pack (US$749), respectively, if you pre-order now. Do note that this early bird pricing will end on November 12, 2022.
