Whether or not if you have put Samsung Galaxy Note 7 fiasco behind you, Samsung is ready to show a spanking new follow up, the Samsung Galaxy Note8 with emphasis on safety, of course. Lets dispense with the marketing mambo jambo and jump straight into what it has to offer. First and foremost, Note8 has the largest touch display on a Note device yet, coming in at 6.3-inch and flaunting a Quad HD+ Super AMOLED with 2,960 x 1,440 resolution that packs 521 api. Imho, what you are looking at is essentially a S8+ that boasts S Pen feature. I mean, just look at it. Aesthetically, it is virtually indistinguishable from the S8+ to untrained eyes.
To be honest, I never understand the point of S series and the Note series, like ever. But who am I to comment, right? No, wait. Apparently, Note series is actually geared towards business users. Oh, well… Key features include Octacore processor born out of 10 nm process, 6GB LPDDR4 RAM, 64/128/256 GB flash storage which is expandable up to 256 GB via microSD card, IP68 rated against water and dust ingress, S Pen that works even when display is wet, fast wireless charging (mind you, not tethered fast charging), a choice of biometric authentication options like iris and fingerprint, enhanced hardware and software security with Samsung Knox with Secure Folder, support for Samsung Bixby, and Samsung DeX that will turn your Note8 into a desktop machine.
A few other worthy mentions include a dual camera with dual OIS (12MP Dual Pixel AF+12MP AF) with 2x optical and up to 10x digital zoom, a 8MP AF front camera, dual SIM support (market-dependent), a 3,300 mAh battery with wireless charging capability, Fast Charging compatible with QC 2.0, LTE Cat. 6, dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 5.0 LE,plus the usual suite of sensors. Those about sums it up and really, that’s what you need to know. The rest of the work to determine if this phone is for you is to on down to the store and get intimate with it. See how the odd aspect ratio cinematic display, AKA Infinity Display, appeals to your eyes.
Anywho, expect Samsung Galaxy Note8 to be available starting mid-September and in a choice of Midnight Black, Orchid Gray, Maple Gold and Deepsea Blue. Oh, it has got matching hue S Pen too. Just in case you are wondering…
