Users of Samsung’s ruggedized Galaxy XCover7 and Galaxy Tab Active5 who have been looking for an upgrade may be disappointed that these devices do not have a follow-up. But they have the “Pro” models now. Introducing the Galaxy XCover7 Pro and the Galaxy Tab Active5 Pro—two devices that look like they’ve spent the last year in boot camp. As before, these are built from the ground up for demanding work environments, sporting military-grade durability and enterprise features that are just begging to get roughed up.

So, what does that mean in real-world terms? For starters, the Galaxy XCover7 Pro is practically begging to be dropped, splashed, and tossed around like a stress ball. This beast is equipped with IP68 water and dust resistance, MIL-STD-810H certification, and—wait for it—a removable 4,350mAh battery.
That’s right, Samsung still believes in the good old days of swapping out batteries without a prayer and a toolkit. Add in 5G connectivity, a Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chip, and anti-feedback stereo speakers, and you’ve got a phone that not only survives chaos but thrives in it.
And if you’re more of a tablet person—or just like carrying around a techy sledgehammer—the Galaxy Tab Active5 Pro is here to deliver. It’s got a 10.1-inch (25.6 cm) display, the same IP68 and MIL-STD-810H certifications, and a monstrous 10,100mAh battery with Dual Hot-Swap support.

Translation? You can swap batteries mid-use without turning it off, like you’re reloading some high-tech power tool. And let’s not forget the S Pen, which even works in the rain, so your grocery list is safe, even in a monsoon.
Both devices are designed to laugh in the face of drops, splashes, and your general clumsiness. Perfect for frontline workers, outdoor adventurers, or anyone who thinks “fragile” is just a suggestion. If you want tech that can take a beating and keep working, Samsung’s just handed you two solid options.
Now for the good news. Since we’re late on this news, these devices are available whenever your wallet is ready, well, at least the rugged smartphone is anyways. It can be had for US$599.99. We did not find the Galaxy Tab Active5 Pro being sold in the U.S., though. It is, however, listed across the pond, in the U.K., for £769 (~1,021 USD).
