Sony PlayStation 5 Officially Announced

While Sony’s next-generation video game console, the PlayStation 5, broke cover months ahead of its rival (that’s the Xbox Series X), the company did not reveal the price nor the availability. That changes earlier today when it gave us the numbers (and a date).

We already know what there is to know about the PS5, both the inner workings and the design. So we shall dive straight into the availability and pricing.

Sony PlayStation 5 Arrives in November

The PS5 will be available in seven key markets, namely, the U.S., Japan, Canada, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand and South Korea, starring on November 12, 2020.

Global rollout will begin on November 19 with the console reaching countries in Europe, Middle East, South America, Asia and South Africa.

The PS5 Digital Edition has a recommended retail price of US$399,99 while the PS5 with an Ultra HD Blu-ray disc drive will be available for an RRP of US$499.99.

Pre-orders will kick off tomorrow (September 17) at select retailers.
