Sony WF-C700N Truly Wireless Noise Cancellation Earbuds

The Sony WF-C500 is a reminder that Sony does in fact offer slightly more affordable, good-sounding TWS earbuds but the pair is basic of the basics that do without noise cancellation. The new Sony WF-C700N is also basic; it is a pair of entry-level TWS but with noise cancelation and costs just a little more. More on the price in just a minute.

The Sony WF-C700N Truly Wireless Noise Cancellation Earbuds are small and lightweight for all-day comfort wear and are targeted at users who are looking for their first pair of TWS noise-canceling earbuds. Notwithstanding its entry-level stature, no expense was spared in designing it.

For starters, the WF-C700N was designed by looking at extensive ear shape data collated since 1982 and based on the evaluation of the sensitivity of various types of ears. The result is a pair of TWS earbuds that is shaped to perfectly match the human ear with an ergonomic surface design for a more stable fit which translates to comfortable wear for long hours.

It comes with an easy-to-carry and sleek cylindrical charging case with geometrically patterned textured that gives it an upmarket look. Users can choose full-on noise canceling or use the Ambient Sound Mode to stay connected to their surroundings.

You can personalize the settings using the Sony Headphones Connect app or use the Focus on Voice setting to chat without removing your earbuds. The earbuds also tout Adaptive Sound Control that allows you to adjust the ambient sound settings. Here’s how this awesome feature works:

“It recognizes locations that you frequently visit, such as your workplace, the gym, or a favorite cafe, and switches the sound modes that suit the situation. With this, you can seamlessly move through your surroundings all while letting your favorite artists and entertainment play on.”

Pretty cool, right? Obviously, this is going to involve location tracking and so, it may not be for everyone. Audio reproduction is delivered through Sony’s original 5 mm driver unit that promises powerful bass, and clear vocals and is bolstered by DSEE (Digital Sound Enhancement Engine).

Users can further personalize their listening with the EQ settings on the app. The Sony WF-C700N offers up to 15 hours of battery life and it further boasts IPX4 water resistance, Wind Noise Reduction Structure for clear voice calls even on a windy day, and a Multipoint connection that allows two Bluetooth devices to be paired at the same time. When connected to a computer and phone, simultaneously, it will cut to the phone when it rings if you are listening to music on the computer.
