A balanced bike is perfect for getting kids started with cycling. It is a pedal-less bicycle that relies on the young rider’s legs to propel it along and in the process, allows kids to focus on balancing before learning the art of pedaling. The SUPER73-K1D is one such kids’ ride that offers this training but instead of providing a springboard to cycling, this kiddie two-wheeler gets your little ones started in a powered two-wheeler, aka motorbike, or more correctly, electric bike from the get-go.
The SUPER73-K1D is essentially an electric bike for children. Aesthetically, it looks like a miniature motocross bike with a hint of BMX and because is small it looks adorable to a grown person like me. Designed for 4-8 year-olds, SUPER73-K1D offers three ride modes, a long moto-style seat, regenerative braking, intuitive red twist throttle, and a removable battery that makes charging and swapping a breeze.
It is powered by a powerful 750 W hub motor which, depending on the ride mode, affords up to an impressive 15 mph (24 km/h!) and a runtime of 90-120 minutes from its 92.8 Wh battery. The vehicle weighs about 27 lbs (12 kg) and has a max payload of 75 lbs (34 kg). Unfortunately, though, because it has a banana-style seat, the seat height is fixed at 19 inches (48 cm).
Rounding up the feature list is an aluminum frame, a rigid suspension, a hydraulic rear brake, and 16” x 24” hexagon pattern knobby tires.
The SUPER73-K1D Electric Bike for Kids can be had now at a discounted price of US$995 (U.P. US$1,295). Electric balance bikes aren’t new, btw. But this one here looks more like a small electric motorcycle.
