Meet Indian Motorcycles’ First Model of 2016, Indian Chief Dark Horse

Now being driven by Polaris Industries, Indian Motorcycles have been busy turning out new models and the Indian Chief Dark Horse Motorcycle you see here is the first of the 2016 model the company has unveiled last week. Not a typo by the way. It’s the auto industry and so 2016 sounds just about right. The Indian Chief Dark Horse is built upon the, you guessed it, Indian Chief platform and as its moniker indicated, it is predominantly covered in a matte black paint job, with just teeny weeny bit of chrome. The end result, aesthetically speaking, the Indian Chief Dark Horse makes quite a fierce statement. Beautiful as it is, the Indian Chief Dark Horse is no bauble; it is touted as the lightest in the series and the quickest model in the Chief family. cruiser bike usually don’t associate with sportiness, well, that’s before the 2015 Indian Scout was announced over the weekend at the Sturgis rally. Polaris has been working extra hard to roll out new models since last year’s official ‘rebirth’ of American bike brand. over the weekend, we saw the Roadmaster made its public debut and it was during this same event, Polaris pulled the wrap of the Scout. the 2015 rendition stands out in the cruiser crowd as one that bears sharp lines – just like its forebear did. with a wet weight of 558 lbs, it is not exactly lightest, but it sure is the lightest in its class. the Scout was designed from a clean sheet with the aim of creating “a potent and precise middle-weight cruiser” and one that will live up to its forebear’s reputation. for the rest of the world, the rebirth of Indian Motorcycles may not be a biggie, but being the America’s first motorcycle company, it is certainly a significant milestones. operating under its parent company Polaris Industries, maker of snowmobiles and all-terrain vehicles, Indian Motorcycles is finally ready to showoff what it has to offer to two-wheeled cruiser lovers after two and half years in the making. officially unveiled last Saturday at the annual motorcycle rally in Sturgis, S. Dakota, Indian Motorcycles showed off a trio of cruiser including the Indian Chief Classic (from $18,999), Indian Chief Vintage (from $20,999), and the top-of-the-food chain Indian Chieftain (from $22,999), and there’s more good news: they all have a price tag to them and will be rolling into US dealership in September.
