founded in year 1911, FILA celebrates its 100th anniversary this year. to mark the centennial year, FILA has teamed with Swarovski to recreate its first ever tennis shoes with Swarovski elements. made out of real cow hide, thousands of Swarovski elements are fused with iconic FILA tricolor design, thus resulting in a classy yet not too ostentatious design. beside the obvious bling that’s probably distracting you at this point, the shoes also sport FILA 100 years logo as well as gold color embossed “100 anniversary” at its heels. personally, i felt that converse shoes’ design hasn’t change much over the years and it is because of this, i thought Converse is an old school fashion. don’t get me wrong, they are still great looking shoes. its canvas construction is quite a place for creativity and it allows for a variety of design to go into it. the latest to join the old school sneakers is a collaboration between Converse’s Chuck Taylor All Star and Superman – yet another old schooler, i suppose. Nike has been churning out many beautiful shoes in recent times. here are two pairs that we think worthy of featuring here. the first is the ‘remake’ of the 1985 shoes, dubbed the Air Vengeance that is designed for runners. the Air Vengeance (sounds a little too menacing to me) is part of the recently re-released V series shoes. the design and the color combo of shades of grey and striking yellow give you a rather retro-ish look. don’t you think so? the collaboration between sportswear giant, Nike and menswear maestro Steven Alan gives the old Nike designs a new lease of life. unusually dubbed as the Air Zoom Lava Dome, this pair of sneakers feature exclusive colorways, fabrication, and modern tooling as touched by Steven Alan. the Lava, however, does not oozes with lava or anything that’s remotely hot but it is a 100% suede shoes accented with nylons. looks rather retro-lish to me but i like. i want, i want, i want!
