LEGO x adidas Originals ZX 8000 Sneakers

LEGO is on a collaboration spree that are not quite toy-related. First with IKEA for playable storage solution, then Levis’ with LEGO-infused fashion and lifestyle pieces, and now, adidas.

In fact, the news of the LEGO x adidas collaboration was revealed around the same day as the toy company teases the LEGO x Levi’s collab. It was a pair of LEGO-themed adidas ZX 800. The kicks is part of the German sport equipment/sneaker maker’s A-ZX project.

A week on, we now have a good look at this upcoming LEGO x adidas ZX 8000 – thanks to co-founder of Round Two, Sean Wotherspoon. adidas has sent Sean a pair, complete with a custom minifigure of the man himself. I guess it helps to be rich and famous, doesn’t it?

As seen in the first reveal video, the shoes reached Sean in a blue shoebox in the shape of a giant 2 x 3 brick and on the inside, the shoe is further stored in a multi-color brick-built box/case.

As for the sneakers, it ought to be the most colorful ZX 800 ever. So colorful to a point that it almost toy like. But I’d be lying to say I am enamored by it.

Aside from the requisite Three Stripes branding, LEGO’s presence is literally everywhere. From the LEGO logo on the tongue to the LEGO brick-inspired eye stays to the dubrae lace locks. The inside wasn’t spared either. It has a co-branding printed insoles.
