Skateboard Deck Electric Guitar Will Make You Shred The Axe In An Unconventional Way

There are guitars and then there’s guitar that can’t be played in a traditional way, like this one cobbled up by NYC-based design firm Stereotank, called Lap Skate Guitar. While it may sounds like it is a skateboard that doubles as an electric axe, it is not. In fact, it wasn’t even upcycled from an old deck; it is built out of a blank skateboard deck, decked out with the requisite electric guitar components like a 1/4-inch output jack, tremolo, an electric guitar bridge, a lone guitar pick up, a volume knob, a lock nut, six tuning pegs and a set of six guitar strings. She Created An Alarm Clock That Will Physically Slap Her Awake

Mornings are best and the worst. Best, because it signals a new day, but getting up to meet the new day can turn out to be quite a daunting task. However, if you are a morning person, the aforementioned is not applicable to you. For the rest of us, we seek every possible wake up contraptions that could have a shot in beating the determined, semi-conscious us who, to be honest, can be quite brutal to any alarm clock that stands in our path back to la la land. Chasing after a wheeled alarm clock and diffusing a ‘bomb’ are some of the methods used, but none of them will be as brutal as electronics tinkerer Simone Giertz ‘Face-slapping Alarm Clock’. Japanese Handmade Cat Bag is Incredibly Life-like and Adorable

We won’t be letting the cat out of the bag with this one. In fact, this has nothing do with secrets. Instead, in the case of the Pico Handmade Cat Shoulder Bag, the cat here is the bag. Before you look away in disgust, thinking it was work of a taxidermist, well, it is not. Believe it or not, this incredible life-like cat bag was handmade by a Japanese housewife from the ground up. So, no. There was no cat carcass involved. Phew. Not that taxidermy is in anyway wrong; just that the idea of carrying a dead animal around would be rather, how do you say? Yikes? RoBoHon is a Walking, Talking, Pico-projecting Robot That’s Also an Android Smartphone

When we first read about Sharp’s RoBoHon, we seriously don’t know what to make of it. At a glance, it appears to be yet another super cute robot toy that the Land of the Rising Sun has to offer, but in reality, it is more than meets the eye – much, much, more. It is, in fact, a smartphone. What!? Yes. A smartphone. What’s more unbelievable is, it is a real product that’s set to go on sale (in Japan, of course) in 2016. Tipping the scale at a grand 390g and standing 19.5cm tall, it is not exactly pocketable. Talked about big-ass smartphone; RoBoHon here gladly takes the cake. However, those “issues” would be non-existence if you knew what it is capable of. Continue reading RoBoHon is a Walking, Talking, Pico-projecting Robot That’s Also an Android Smartphone

Airbus Hatches Evil Plan to Stack Passengers in the Name of Optimizing Use of Cabin Space

It is no secret that commercial jet makers have been wooing airlines with aircrafts that can carry more. But this latest seating arrangement patent filed by Airbus takes the cake as the most evil plan of all. Yes. We said ‘evil’ because if the present cramped seating arrangement in the economy class isn’t bad enough, Airbus wants to eliminate the overhead storage and use that same space for what they called ‘mezzanine’ seating. You know, ‘mezzanine’ as in a second story. So, yeah, Airbus is indeed proposing the literal stacking of passengers to, as the company puts it, “make optimum use of the available space in a passenger cabin.” Continue reading Airbus Hatches Evil Plan to Stack Passengers in the Name of Optimizing Use of Cabin Space

Lexus Unveiled a Drivable Electric IS Sedan Made out of… Cardboard

How do you reiterate the point of “human craftsmanship skills” in making cars? I don’t know. Many ways, I guess? But for Lexus, it chose to collaborate with professional designers and modellers to produce a working replica of its electric IS sedan out of cardboards, well, at least majority of the part are. 1,700 based pieces of cardboard sheets were laser cut based on a digital model of the regular car and subsequently, pieced together using wood glue. The car is outfitted with an interior, functionally doors, headlights (yes, even those) and rolling wheels. Continue reading Lexus Unveiled a Drivable Electric IS Sedan Made out of… Cardboard

You Can Stop Nutella Thieves with This Nutella Jar Lock

Nutella is much loved by nearly everyone. We can’t think of anyone who doesn’t like Nutella unless, of course, they are allergic to chocolate and/or hazelnut. However, with great love comes great threat and by threat we meant to say, it can be gobbled up by another hazelnut spread craze and before you know it, you may be opening the pantry to an emptied Nutella jar. Any sane man certainly don’t want that to happen and that includes German furniture designer Daniel Schobloch’s friend who were facing a Nutella crisis: his friend’s children threatens the very existence of the home’s beloved Nutella. Lucky for this friend, Daniel’s ingenuity lead him to create Nutella Jar Lock, an acrylic contraption designed to enable the lid to be secured by a padlock to stop Nutella “thieves” from having their way. Crazy-horse Leather Cow Head Backpack is as Weird as it is Cool

Someone left this interesting hat tip with us, but with a description that’s nearly as odd as the product is. Weird it might be, it is still something that beckons you to take a second look. Anyways, this Cow Head Backpack probably won’t go well with vegans, or should we say, any conventional person, but like I said, it is still strangely attractive. The tipster provide as a redirected link that does not lead to the said product, but we managed to find a website called MeetIDEA that sells this exact same bag. The description somewhat different from the one we have; a little more detailed, I would say. Anywho, it is handcrafted from genuine leather. Here’s the description: Continue reading Crazy-horse Leather Cow Head Backpack is as Weird as it is Cool

This Alien-Like Object is Actually a 3D-Printed 2-string Piezoelectric Violin

The good news is, aliens have yet to invade us and this alien-like thing is actually a 3D-printed 2-string piezoelectric violin that is very much an Earthy object. Phew. So there is no cause for alarm, yet. Jokes aside, this out-of-this-world musical instrument, a 2-string electric violin, if you haven’t figured that out, is the work of Miami-based MONAD Studio and was among the five 3D printed instruments on display at the 3D Print Design Show, held in New York City this past April 16-17, 2015. During the event, guests witnessed the musical instruments in action and get to hear for themselves if the instrument does sound like anything that’s created in this world.
