The Great Sleeping Bear by Eiko Ishikawa

Surely a bear may not have violated Leonard DiCaprio in the movie The Revenant, but we can’t guarantee that will not happen to anyone if they were to sleep in The Great Sleeping Bear while in the woods. Looking exceedingly lifelike, The Great Sleeping Bear is creation of Dutch artist Eiko Ishikawa. If you find this animal-inspired sleeping bag somewhat familiar, well, that’s because it was a news back in 2009 and then again, in 2013, when the artist announced that she will be selling limited number of these handmade bear sleeping bag in 2014. It became news again recently, likely because of the holiday seasons, or perhaps, due to the time of the year when, you know, it is so freaking cold in some places that folks would rather hibernate like a bear.

Anywho, it is said that The Great Sleeping Bear is available for sale again for a $2,350 a pop, but we dug around a bit and found the so-called sale page appeared to be a product information page posted in 2013. So, we are absolutely clueless on where to grab one – that’s assuming you BEAR to part with that amount for a sleeping bag. For the price, at least you don’t need to sleep in a foul-smelling real animal carcass to keep your warm in the wild. A word of advice though: don’t use it in the open when in the wild. Use it in a tent or something. Seriously, we don’t want to read news about someone being violated by a bear. Don’t turn wild rumor into a reality, really.
