It took a while but it is finally here. The key person of interest from Stranger Things Season 1, Will Byers, has finally joined Lucas, Eleven, Dustin, and the Demogorgon. ThreeZero announced last week that ThreeZero Stranger Things 1/6 Will Byers has joined its growing Stranger Things collectible figures.
The ThreeZero Stranger Things 1/6 Will Byers is about 24.5 cm (about 9.6 inches) tall and offers 28 points of articulation which – thanks to the real fabric outfit as seen worn by our little hero in S1 – there are no visible joints.
As far as the outfit goes, the details are pretty mind-blowing. It does recall the Will back in the season that started it all. However, we can’t say the same for the head sculpt. The product page described it as “an authentic likeness” to the then 10-year-old Noah Schnapp who played the young Byers but I beg to differ. I mean the likeness is there but not quite spot on, IMHO. But it’s still cool.
Like the rest of his gang, the 1/6th scale Will comes with a bunch of accessories, including a backpack, wristwatch, walkie-talkie, a pen, a Mind Flayer drawing, interchangeable hands (five sets), and ermmm, a rifle? My memory is vague regarding this. Did Will wield a gun in S1? Hmmm.
Anyhoo, so, yeah, young Byers is finally part of the team. Now, all that is left is Mike and the kids’ entourage will be complete.
And you don’t have to wait for long for it to materialize. Pre-ordering for the US$168 figure is underway with estimated shipping in Q3 2023. Lovely.
