Hasbro has perfected a way to openly take your money twice for the same product. That’s right, my friends, I’m talking about the ol’ retool/repaint. But here’s the thing: Hasbro doesn’t just do repaint/retool out of thin air. The toymaker almost always bases them on cartoons or comics, and in the case of the Transformers Generations Armada Nemesis Prime & Air Defense Mini-Con Team, he’s straight out of Transformers: Armada Episode 43, “Puppet.”
This blue/turquoise-and-silver bad version of Armada Optimus Prime only appeared for a few minutes, and only in that one episode. But hey, it’s Optimus Prime—good or bad, it should sell, right? The Transformers Generations Armada Nemesis Prime & Air Defense Mini-Con Team is a convention exclusive that dropped at New York Comic Con (October 9 to October 12, 2025). And no, it did not fly off the shelf. But why am I not surprised? Then again, it probably has something to do with it being Premium Members only for now. More on that in a bit.
Anyhoo, as the product name implies, bad Optimus Prime isn’t alone. He comes with the Air Defense Mini-Con Team—three tiny triple changers (kinda) that can combine into a large saber, which Angry Prime can wield. Armada Nemesis Prime is a Voyager Class figure, standing 7.5 inches (19 cm) tall, and converts between bot and truck modes in 21 steps. He’s armed with two dual-barrel blasters and one ion cannon—both of which can be attached to the figure, or combined to form a larger weapon. As before, expect articulated heads, arms, and legs, allowing you to pull off dynamic poses.
Finally, Armada Nemesis Prime also gets his own Matrix of Leadership, which can fit in his chest.
