currently, there are two motorized luxury river boats plying the Peruvian stretch of the Amazon river, namely Aqua Amazon and Aria Amazon. the latter is a newer 147-foot craft launched in 2011 and is fitted with 16 suites for up to 32 guests with private facilities, while the former is a 130-foot boat launched in 2007 and has 12 suites to accommodate up to 24 guests. unless you are an aquaphobia, we can’t see why anyone wouldn’t be drawn to this alternative cruise vacation. though it is worthy to note, especially for geeks, you will have put down your connected gadgets for an awesome time onboard cos’ there will be no Internet connections onboard and similarly, you can also forget about roaming calls/connectivity as most remote areas will not be serving up any signal – unless you have a satellite phone, which the cruise ship is also equipped with if you really need to use. naturally, there will be charges associated with the use.
