Digimon fans who watch in envy when Evangelion fans get the DefoReal version of the Unit-01 “G” Awakening figure can now smile, knowing X-Plus also has Digimon fans covered. Folks, meet the X-Plus DefoReal MetalGreymon: “G” Erosion Mode figure from the Godzilla x Digimon collab. Pardon me for my ignorance, my friends, for I never would have imagined a day Digimon would collide with the radioactive reptile in such an adorably monstrous way.
Standing 16 cm (6.3 inches) tall and stretching 22 cm (8.7 inches) long, this Erosion Mode MetalGreymon isn’t just infected with G-cells—it’s full-on mutating into kaiju cuteness. The asymmetrical sculpt, complete with dorsal plate-inspired wings, looks like Greymon wandered into a Godzilla fight and decided to stay. Depending on the angle, it morphs between derpy menace and beautifully grotesque.
Made of PVC and intended for ages 15 and up (sorry, toddlers), this ¥14,000 (around US$92) figure was originally sold via Shonen Ric, though preorders there have closed. Still, where there’s a will—and an internet connection—you’ll probably find other retailers still clinging to stock.
