Xiaomi SU7 Ultra Electric Vehicle

First previewed in July, Xiaomi has just made its holy grail of electric car, the SU7 Ultra, officially available to order in China. In case you missed it, the SU7 Ultra is a sleek electric vehicle that’s got performance figures making it sound more like a rocket than a car. This beast recently blazed through the Nürburgring track, clocking in at a blistering 6 minutes and 46 seconds, making it the fastest four-door car to ever complete the course. But Xiaomi isn’t done there—they’re planning to challenge the track again with the production model next year.

So, what makes this EV so extra? For starters, it’s got two Xiaomi V8s and one V6s electric motor producing a jaw-dropping 1,548 horsepower (!??). This setup rockets the SU7 Ultra from 0 to 100 km/h (0-62 mph) in just 1.98 seconds. And while most cars max out around, say, a sensible 200 km/h (124 mph), the SU7 Ultra can hit 350 km/h (217 mph)—a number usually reserved for hypercars and, possibly, uncomfortably fast amusement rides.

The SU7 Ultra has the styling to match its specs. It sports an extended 5.1-meter-long (16.7-foot) body with a low, aggressive stance, a large fixed carbon fiber spoiler, and a color scheme Xiaomi affectionately calls “Suit-Brawler,” featuring flashy lightning yellow accents over metallic silver. There are 17 carbon fiber parts, including the roof and door sills, helping cut down weight and optimize speed.

And yes, it’s not just built for straight lines—its chassis and handling capabilities are also race-ready. The car features Xiaomi’s in-house torque vectoring and a high-performance suspension system that lets drivers feel every twist and turn. On top of that, it’s got a beefy 1330 kW battery that charges from 10% to 80% in just 11 minutes and a cooling system strong enough to handle back-to-back laps without overheating.

To make things even more intense, Xiaomi’s Track Master app allows you to analyze your driving performance with real-time lap data, including a speedometer, G-force meter, and first-person view footage. It even lets you share your racing achievements online, which is great for reminding friends they’re only driving commuter cars.

The Xiaomi SU7 Ultra is set to launch in March 2025, with a starting price of a grand 814,900 yuan (that’s a bargain US$114,400 according to today’s exchange rate for a hypercar, IMHO). Preorders open at 10:30 PM on October 29 China Time with a 10,000-yuan (around US$1,405) deposit, which also guarantees early delivery. So, start saving now—if you are in China or Ford’s CEO—because this isn’t just a car; it’s a street-legal roller coaster.
