Well, what do you know? Chinese mini shaver maker Yoose has found its way into the world of Everyday Carry. It’s just launched the Yoose Arc Lighter in China, and in true Yoose style, it takes design cues from their signature mini shaver.
The Yoose Arc Lighter borrowed Zippo’s iconic flip-top design that open to reveal the lighter underneath. Since it’s an arc lighter, it’s actually windproof, unlike those so-called windproof flame lighters that may not be 100% windproof.
In case you haven’t heard, arc lighters are a modern upgrade to traditional lighters. They use electricity to produce a small arc of high-voltage current that’s super hot—hotter than traditional flame—making it perfect for lighting anything you need. Since there’s no actual flame, it’s 100% windproof and about as futuristic as it gets.
In the case of the Yoose Arc Lighter, it adopts a pulse double arc that’s both windproof and resistant to low temperatures, just in case you’re sparking it up in Arctic conditions.
When closed, the Yoose Arc Lighter could easily be mistaken for one of their mini shavers, keeping things cool and sleek. It comes with an alloy body and is available in five color choices. The Yoose Arc Lighter is expected to launch soon, though pricing is still yet to be revealed.
