Good news, fans of the legendary American rock musician, Frank Zappa. There is a Frank Zappa movie coming your way this November, simply called Zappa. OK. It is not quite a movie per se.
Zappa is a docu-film. It is NOT a biopic and so, there’s absolutely no dramatization or no falsehoods like some biopics do (you know which recent biopic we are talking about, don’t you?).
The documentary, which is directed by director/actor Alex Winter who is best known for his portrayal as Bill Bill & Ted’s movies, is an unadulterated journey into legendary musician’s world.
It explores the private life of the man who made Halloween the event to look forward to each year and what made the him ticks.
Expect to find never-before-seen footage and interviews with family, friends and fellow musicians – including Frank’s widow Gail Zappa, prolific guitarist Steve Vai, Ray White and more – that will let you learn more about this legendary figure in America’s music industry like you never learn before.
Zappa will be holding a one-night-only theatrical event on November 23, 2020, and available everywhere in stateside starting November 27, 2020. In the mean time, here’s the official trailer:
