Zoids x Evangelion 30th Anniversary Xenorex

Evangelion is no stranger to “melting” with other “creatures.” But if Godzilla x Evangelion Mechagodzilla feels too basic, and Godzilla x Evangelion G Mode is too grotesque—even for the “Q” variant—for your liking, well, this collab with Zoids should hit the sweet spot.

That’s right, my friends. Evangelion is now one with the Zoids—specifically, the Xenorex, the Tyrannosaurus-type Zoid from the Zoids: Wild Senki series. There are two versions: the Xenorex x Evangelion Unit 01 and—yep, you guessed it—Xenorex x Evangelion Unit 02. Officially, they are called Xeno Rex Test Type-01 [JP] and Xeno Rex Production Model-02 [JP], respectively.

I have to say that the Xenorex base provides a ferocious appearance that’s more in line with the Evangelion units. That said, the Zoids x Evangelion 30th Anniversary Xenorex is more than just a repaint. It does bear some of Evangelion’s signature features, including the forehead feature (the “oni horn” on Unit 01, and forehead bulge on Unit 02) and extended chin, the shoulder pylons that open to reveal the Progressive Knife, and the presence of the Entry Plug.

But this being a Xenorex, the cockpit—a.k.a. the head—has room for a pilot, which the kit also supplies. It’s a fixed-pose pilot presented in a crouching, sports bike–riding position. Oh, did we mention the head was specially sculpted in the likeness of the respective Evangelion units? I’d say that’s a pretty nice touch.

Each figure comes with a bunch of accessories, including the aforementioned pilot, a Zoids-themed Entry Plug, a pair of Pallet Rifles, a pair of Progressive Knives, and a smoke-colored (orange for Unit 02) tinted transparent replacement canopy cover for those who wish to display it as such.

It comes as a pre-painted kit and, when completed, stretches an attention-getting 312 mm (~12.3 inches) long. The completed kit isn’t just a display piece; it boasts battery-powered motorized walking action (batteries not included).

The model kit is part of the T-SPARK Synergenex series, which already includes Rathalos Prime, Basara Prime, SHIELD-D-PRIME—just to name a few.

The Zoids x Evangelion 30th Anniversary Xenorex was announced in April 2025, with pre-orders starting on July 3, 2025, and shipping slated for February 2026. The asking price is 6,600 yen [JP] (tax included for Japan) (~US$45). And yes, I have pre-ordered it, because I am a hopeless crossover fanatic.
