so you think the current horde of SUV offering isn’t sporty enough, or at least does not look the part of being sporty? then perhaps you might want to give the upcoming 2015 Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class SUV some serious consideration. we know we would – if have the dough to spare, but until then we will just let you have the info instead. the 2015 Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class SUV shares the same underpinning of the new A-Class and CLA-Class, which kind of explains why it looks suspiciously like the A-Class, albeit one with a slightly elevated ride hide. powers come in four flavors: two petrol engines and two diesel variants. the former includes a 156-hp 1.6-liter inline four destined for the GLA 200 and 2-liter units four cylinder item with a rated power output of 211-hp and 350 Nm of torque. the diesel duo, the GLA 200 CDI and GLA 220 CDI, both have a displacement of 2.2-liters. the GLA 200 CDI has 136 horses and 300 Nm of torque, while the GLA 220 CDI has higher rated power and torque, at 170-hp and 350 Nm, respectively.

all engines has ECO start/stop comes as standard and mated to either a six-speed manual gearbox or the 7G-DCT dual clutch automatic transmission. with the exception of GLA 200, all other models are available in 4MATIC – Mercedes’ all-wheel drive system. other notable features include the usual luxury comfort expect of the three-pointed star brand, a powerful sculptured body (you already know that, don’t you?), LED daytime running lamps, diamond-patterned front grilles, simulated underride guard, a low drag-coefficient of 0.29 that also helps in fuel efficiency, extensive undercarriage panelling to further improve air flow underneath the vehicle, electromechanical power steering, the usual suites of safety features and more. the 2015 Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class SUV is expected be available next year (hence the 2015 preceding the model name), which means indicative pricing is still not available. you can catch the new GLA-Class when it struts its stuff at the Frankfurt Motor Show next month – in the meantime, you can satisfy your visual appetite with some awesome images in the gallery below.
