2025 BMW iX All-Electric Sports Activity Vehicle

Remember the 2022 BMW iX? That all-electric Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) BMW introduced in 2021, making a bold statement with its futuristic design and, let’s be honest, a front grille that could double as a monolith in a sci-fi film? Well, it’s back. But this time, it’s sportier, stronger, and can go even farther before politely reminding you to find a charger.

The 2025 BMW iX lineup now includes the xDrive45, the xDrive60 M Sport, and the M70 xDrive—because apparently, BMW decided numbers are the new adjectives. The xDrive60 M Sport, the range champion, boasts up to 426 miles (685 km) of range (WLTP), which is fantastic news for anyone who hates stopping for electricity as much as they hated stopping for gas.

Performance-wise, the iX M70 xDrive is the speed demon, packing 659 hp and launching from 0 to 62 mph (0-100 km/h) in just 3.8 seconds. Not bad for an SUV that weighs about as much as a small planet. And if that’s not enough, it also comes with “Launch Control,” because nothing says “eco-friendly EV” like a tire-smoking start at a red light.

Aesthetically, the new iX gets even bolder with seven new paint colors and, for the first time, 23-inch wheels—because why not? The grille can now glow (yes, glow), and the M Sport trim adds an even more aggressive look, just in case you want your SAV to stare down other cars at the stoplight.

Starting at US$87,250, the 2025 iX arrives in May. And for those keeping score, it’s still quieter than a library but faster than most sports cars. Welcome to the future.
