Remember the head-tracked FPV RC aircraft? Well, something similar is happening in the RC car world. In fact, the pursuit for authenticity has already resulted in RC cars having scale interiors with a figure of the driver. But now, it has gone even further.
While it does not have a head-tracking camera, the Custom Interior for 1/10 Team Associated Hoonicorn RTC RC by Knight Customs (or officially 1/10 Hooni working drift interior) you see here is nothing short of another level of detail and realism.
It not only has a driver (or half of it really); it can be animated. You can add 3 micro servos to make an animated driver that will move the head and steering wheel as you turn the RC car with the transmitter. Plus, it has a movable right arm to pull the handbrake when you do input the command on your Tx.
The product is sold in the form of 3D files on the Knight Customs store on MyMiniFactory. This means you will need to have access to a 3D printer and this also means you will need to roll up your sleeves. Some model-building skills are required (obviously).
In addition to micro servos, you will also need two thin rubber bands and a paper clip. You can choose to stay static but where’s the fun in that, right? Anyways, the 1/10 Hooni working drift interior is designed to fit the officially licensed 1/10 scale Team Associated Hoonicorn RTR.
