there are cars that money can buy and then there are supercars that we can only dream about. the stunning new Ferrari LaFerrari Supercar is one of those cars that we have been dreaming about since the Enzo days. the oddly named flagship supercar (basically, it simply means ‘The Ferrari’) made its world premier at the Geneva Auto Show 2013 and carries with it both the look and power that leaves us nothing to doubt what the Prancing Horse marque has set out to accomplish: a successor to the iconic Ferrari Enzo. like its predecessor, the LaFerrari might just be as elusive as only 499 of such awesome example will be built. under the hood, the LaFerrari is the first Ferrari to be driven by the HY-KERS hybrid drivetrain system that marries a 789 horses 6.3-liter V12 petrol unit with a 160-hp (120 kW) electric motor, giving it a combined output 949 horsepower (708 kW) and over 900 Nm (664 lb-ft) of torque.
with the aid of a seven-speed DCT transmission, the LaFerrari zips from standstill to 100 km/h in under three seconds. push it further, it will hit 200 km/h in under seven and the 300 km/h mark is just 15 seconds away. with a top speed of 350 km/h, it is the fastest road-legal stallion in Maranello’s long history. the LaFerrari is not all brawl without beauty. it is definitely no slouch in the look department. it features a body crafted from no less than four different types of hand-laminated carbon fiber and boast a 41/59 weight distribution. other highlights include a Brembo carbon ceramic braking system with lightweight calipers, a fixed seat setup tailored to the driver, and a special tire setup comprising of 265/30 R 19 Pirelli P-Zeros up front and 345/30 R 20s at the rear. no word on when it will be made available or how much will it hurt your wealth, but with just 499 planned units, you’d be calling on your local distributor by now. scroll down for a few more awesome look.
