No one will ever associate a Mustang with rally motorsports, let alone off-roading. But that part relating to off-roading will soon change because Ford has revealed that it will be building an off-road-focused Mustang and it is not based on the iconic gas-guzzler but the electric Mach-E.
Ford revealed the Ford Mustang Mach-E Rally, its first-ever, Rally-inspired, five-passenger EV, at the Goodwood Festival of Speed earlier this month. Guests at the event have gotten the first look at the rally-inspired electric SUV charging up the hill driven by Ott Tänak, the current driver of the M-Sport Ford Puma Hybrid Rally entry and former World Rally Champion.
Specific details about its off-road upgrades are not available but beneath the camouflage livery, we can kind make out that it has more aggressive styling that appears to be sharper. It appears to be slightly lifted too and is outfitted with a roof spoiler, and rolls on rally-inspired wheels knobby tires.
Beyond those, there is really nothing to go around than to ogle over the official photos which you can find posted with this article. According to Ford, the Ford Mustang Mach-E Rally will be available in the U.S. and Europe. However, exactly when and for how much are not clear.
