Can you imagine eating cold Mustard that is kinda creamy and not as a condiment? Well me neither. Just when we thought Mustard Ice Cream and Mustard Donuts (which is not odd at all, IMHO) are the craziest things anyone could turn mustard into, French’s, one of McCormick & Company’s brands, announces it is honoring National Mustard Day on August 5th with Limited Edition Mustard SKITTLES.
French’s and SKITTLES have teamed up to release what would be this summer’s tangiest yellow candy and the first-ever French’s Mustard flavored SKITTLES. Yup. Mustard candy, it is. I bet Frank C. Mars would never have dreamed that the candy company he founded would one day be producing mustard candies.
Borrowing Ian Malcolm’s words from the movie Jurassic Park… I guess some food scientists are too preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn’t stop to think if they should. Clearly, mustard in everything is a possibility but should we even consider doing it? Perhaps not but as a huge fan of mustard (and wasabi) I am all too curious about how Mustard SKITTLES will taste like.
If you are curious too, you can have a chance to taste French’s Mustard SKITTLES and perhaps even bag some branded swag when French’s hits the road on a multi-stop tour up the East Coast in the “Mustard Mobile”. You will not miss it if it is there because Mustard Mobile is a bright yellow custom-designed vintage bus with giant Mustard SKITTLES on top. So far, here are some of the stops:
- Monday, July 31: Atlanta – Ponce City Market from 11 AM-3 PM
- 675 North Avenue NE, Atlanta, GA 30344
- Wednesday, August 2: WashingtonD.C. – City Center from 11 AM-3 PM
- 825 10th St NW, Washington, DC 20001
- · Saturday, August 5: New York City – Hudson River Park from 11 AM–3 PM
- 555 12th Ave, New York, NY 10036
I don’t believe there is any way you can buy it. However, fun-sized packs of the French’s Limited Edition Mustard SKITTLES will be given away for free – while stocks last – via an online sweepstakes and at in-person pop-up events listed above.
From now through August 5th, residents in the U.S. can visit the product’s campaign site to enter for a chance to win a pack of the mustard candies. No purchase or payment is necessary to enter or win.
