Attention, old school Marvel fans. You will want to hear about Hasbro‘s newly launched HasLab project, featuring Sentinel, the infamous mutant-hunting robots that are hell-bent in decimating all mutants.
What makes this Hasbro X-Men Legends Marvel’s Sentinel Figure different from the past offering is, it is huge. Like, 26.3 inches (669 mm) kind of huge.
That’s like well over 2 feet tall! Then again, it is no surprise (that it is huge) as most, if not all, HasLab projects are massive – as we all have seen with Jabba’s Sail Barge, Unicron and more recently, Cookie Monster.
Made up a frame containing no less than 260 individual pieces, the figure has a whopping 72 points of articulation. 20 of those are in each hand alone! This means the level of posability is through the roof and unlike anything we have seen in any figure.
Even the included Marvel Legends 6-inch Bastion figure itself boasts 30 points of articulation. And may I add that the Bastion figure is looking pretty bad-ass. Speaking of Bastion figure, an 18-inch Sentinel “tentacle” accessory as well as a 6-inch alternate Sentinel Prime head are included with this figure.
Rounding up the package are battery-powered LEDs in the head and the chest.
In addition, backers for this figure will score a code for 70,000 Marvel Insider points which they can use to unlock your their own digital copy of Uncanny X-Men #14 (1963) featuring, you guessed it, the Sentinels.
The comic will be available to read in the Marvel Comics app. Points will be issued after the campaign ends, which is August 24, 2020.
Hasbro X-Men Legends Marvel’s Sentinel Figure is currently being crowdfunded on HasLab. Project has since met its target goal of 6,000 backers.
The campaign, which starts since July 10, 11:59PM ET, will end on August 24, 2020 at 11:59PM EST. If all goes as planned (which it definitely will be), Hasbro X-Men Legends Marvel’s Sentinel figure will ship sometime in Fall 2021.
Hasbro ain’t stopping at 6,000 backers, though. It has some ‘stretch goals’ to entice more fans to dive into getting this figure.
As of this post, there are three stretch goals’, simply referred to as Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3. Tier 1, which has since been unlocked, is a Marvel Legends Master Mold alternate head accessory. However, the perks for Tier 2 and Tier 3 are not known yet.
If you are interested in securing a unit, you can do it within the next 40 days or so. Be warned, though. It’s pricey. Expected to commit US$349.99 of your hard-earned dough for one and also, only U.S. residents need to apply. Dang it, Hasbro!
