at the recent Global Sources Electronics & Components World Expo, China-based HiSense showcased its new Wireless Home Digital Interface (WHDI) adapter. we have seen similar WHDI in the works recently such as the DIY streaming from iPad 2 and the Moov case but this HiSense item is set to be a complete solution that wirelessly mirror HD content from your laptops or iPhones to your HDTV.

employing AMIMON WHDI technology, this HiSense item is touted to process the ability to stream high quality content for both in-room and multi-room, including uncompressed 1080p/60Hz video without latency. thanks to the use of 40 MHz channel in a 5 GHz unlicensed band. it will also support 3D format and has a range up to 30 meters (100 feet) even through walls. it all sounds good but don’t get all too excited about it as this will no doubt be available in mainland China first. no details on its pricing or its availability for the rest of the world though.
