We are not done with Hot Toys and Batman yet. Along with the new Batman (1989) 1/6th Scale Collectible Figure, Hot Toys have also announced a must-have for any fan of Tim Burton’s Batman: the Batmobile.
Aside from Tumbler from Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight trilogy, the Batmobile from 1989 Batman is possibly the most popular silhouette. Just like the 1/6th scale Tumbler, the Hot Toys Batman (1989) 1/6th Scale Batmobile fits the 1/6th Batman figure.
This also means it will devour any shelf you may have left. Speaking of size, this screen-accurate Batmobile is a behemoth of scale collectibles, measuring approximately a meter long, 40 cm wide, and 25 cm tall (3.3 x 1.3 x 0.82 feet or 39.4 x 15.7 x 9.8 inches).
With the size also comes an incredible amount of details, including rolling wheels wrapped in, presumably rubber tires, an opening fuel tank with mechanical details, side-mounted batdisc launchers, moveable machine guns, shinbreakers, and a functional canopy that slides opens to reveal a detailed interior with a dashboard panel with LED light-up function.
Light-up functionality can also be found on the head and tail lights, as well as the jet engine. The scale model is supplied with a rotary base that let you recreate the scene in the Batcave. Batcave not included.
The Hot Toys Batman (1989) 1/6th Scale Batmobile will be released in Q2-Q3, 2024. Meanwhile, you may pre-order it from toy retailers like Sideshow for about US$715. You don’t need Bruce Wayne’s wealth to own one but it is still pretty steep.
