Calling on super fans of Christopher Nolan’s Batman aka The Dark Knight aka the broody cape crusader. Nah. I made the last one up. But you gotta agree that Nolan’s Wayne is perpetually emo. The trilogy is super dark, to say the least. Anyhoo, here’s a new (supersize) action figure of Gotham City’s superhero from Hot Toys.
It is definitely worthy of a mention because, at 1/4th scale, the Hot Toys The Dark Knight Trilogy Batman 1/4th Scale Collectible Figure towers at nearly half a meter tall (about 47 cm or about a foot and a half).
The figure is, of course, based on Christian Bale’s Batman as seen in the trilogy, and it is presented in a Batsuit featuring a fabric costume covered with armor, a newly tailored black cape, a utility belt with die-cast element, forearm gauntlets, and black boots, and boasts over 32 points of articulation.
The figure is supplied with three head sculpts which include a newly painted head sculpt in the likeness of Christian Bale as seen in the trilogy and two masked head sculpts: one with rolling eyeballs features and with three interchangeable lower faces, and another featuring LED light-up eyes to recreate the sonar vision device.
Also included with the figures are no less than 7 pairs of interchangeable gloved hands, along with a suite of accessories and gadgets including an EMP rifle with LED light-up function, transformable sticky bomb gun, grapnel gun, batarangs, a flight pack, and a diorama figure base – just to name a few.
Two editions are being offered: a regular collector’s edition and a special edition. The latter will come with a Batman cowl (not wearable on the figure) as a display accessory to the figure.
The Hot Toys The Dark Knight Trilogy Batman 1/4th Scale Collectible Figure is expected to be released sometime in Q2-Q3 2023.
