Huawei Watch Ultimate Design Spring Edition diamond-studded jewellery smartwatch with sapphire crystal and metal bracelet
Huawei turns its Ultimate Design smartwatch into a jewellery piece with 99 hand-set natural diamonds, sapphire crystal detailing, ECG health tracking, and eSIM support in a 40 m dive-capable wearable.

Sure, there have been “luxury” smartwatches, but none come close to the new Huawei Watch Ultimate Design Spring Edition. Created with former Louis Vuitton Watches and Jewellery Artistic Director and Amfitheatrof Studio founder Francesco Amfitheatrof, this is Huawei’s first jewellery smartwatch—and its first diamond-studded bracelet watch under the Ultimate Design sub-brand. Inspired by the Fibonacci sequence, the watch features 99 hand-set natural diamonds and diamond-cut sapphire crystals.

The diamonds are not confined to the bezel alone. The sapphire crystal itself is surrounded by a 60-facet diamond-cut ring, while the crown carries 18 sculpted facets and a single natural diamond set at its center. Meanwhile, the bracelet follows a Fibonacci-inspired vine pattern and is hand-set with 98 natural diamonds, giving the watch the presence of a jewellery piece rather than a wearable gadget.

Materials follow the same direction. The case uses titanium, paired with a ceramic rear cover, and a sapphire crystal engineered to handle daily wear without sacrificing clarity. The result is a wearable that resembles a boutique bracelet watch more than something you expect to track ECG readings.

And yes, it still tracks ECG readings.

Huawei integrates its X-TAP sensing window, combining pressure sensing, ECG, and PPG sensors into a single module. A 60-second scan checks up to 17 key health indicators, covering cardiovascular and respiratory signals in one pass. The watch also supports menstrual cycle tracking with trend prediction, emotional state monitoring linked to adaptive watch faces, blood-glucose risk research participation, and hypertension risk evaluation tools.

Fitness and lifestyle features extend beyond step counting. The watch works with Huawei’s voice-enabled nutrition assistant for calorie tracking, supports breathing training, and connects with compatible vehicles as a NearLink car key, unlocking doors automatically and triggering welcome lighting effects on approach.

Communication stays independent of the phone thanks to eSIM calling support, while onboard tools handle payments, flight reminders, and meeting schedules directly from the watch interface.

Safety functions are also built in. Pressing the crown five times triggers emergency assistance calls and sends location data, and the watch can relay heart-rate information to rescue services during vehicle collision alerts when paired with supported systems.

The hardware underneath keeps things practical. A 1.38-inch LTPO AMOLED display reaches 3,000 nits peak brightness, while HarmonyOS 6.1 runs on the Kirin W80 wearable chipset. Connectivity includes Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, GNSS dual-band positioning, and StarFlash support.

Protection ratings include 5 ATM, IP68, and IP69, with support for dives down to 40 meters, which is not something normally associated with diamond-set watches.

Battery life reaches 3 days in full-feature mode, extending to 7 days in power-saving mode, depending on usage. Though Huawei fell short of putting a number on the battery capacity.

The Huawei Watch Ultimate Design Spring Edition measures 42.9 × 42.9 × 10.8 mm, weighs about 91 grams, and fits wrists between 130 and 175 mm. It arrives in a light-green presentation box patterned after the Fibonacci motif, alongside a bundle of VIP ownership services including global warranty coverage, maintenance privileges, and medical consultation benefits.

Most jewellery watches trade function for appearance. This one keeps both, and then some. It tracks dives, records workouts, monitors health metrics, and still looks like it belongs beside mechanical watches rather than fitness bands.

The Huawei Watch Ultimate Design Spring Edition is super luxe for sure, and it has a price to match. You are looking at least 29,999 yuan a pop [CH], which works out to be around US$4,398, according to today’s going rate. Though it is worth noting that it is not the most expensive smartwatch ever made. At least these will have some value since it has precious stones.
