Joytoy is a toy maker specializing in-house designed and developed action figures and futuristic war machines, like super cool off-roaders and human piloted mechas (think Mechwarrior).
Joytoy is the America’s G.I. Joe equivalent, but without the patriotism behind it as the driving force. The theme is set in fictional universe without reference to any real life people, character or machine.
So what about it? Well, Joytoy has just step out of its own universe and partnered with U.K.’s Games Workshop for a collection of Warhammer 40,000 action figures.
Not a lot is known about this upcoming Joytoy x Warhammer 40,000 action figures, except for the figures are of 1:18 scale and they will be, of course, posable. However, it is not clear how many characters will be introduced.
Late last month, Joytoy provided a peek at an unpainted prototype and last week, the company offered a preview of the painted prototype figure. The figure was a vanguard infiltrator in a beautiful blue paint job with weathering effect.
From the prototype, we can see the joints are cleverly concealed either with the marine’s armor or paint applications, making the figure look like a non-posable statuette.
Official words will be put out this month. It is not clear if Joytoy x Warhammer 40,000 collection will be available outside of China. If you are keen, perhaps you may want to check with local online retailers like Big Bad Toy Store after the announcement have been made.
