If you already had the Toho Daikaiju series’ Godzilla, a Gojira figure based on the last year’s most anticipated Godzilla vs. Kong movie from Shonen Ric, on order, then you may not want to miss out on the other star of the movie: King Kong.
Also from the Toho Daikaiju series is Kong from Godzilla vs. Kong (2021) and like his co-star, the roughly 27 cm (approximately 10.6 inches) figure is NOT poseable. But the lack of posability is more than made up by the incredible, screen-accurate details.
Speaking of which, Kong is depicted with his Battle Axe as he was seen wielding in the movie and in a stance that emphasizes the guardian deity’s fearlessness. While it has no real flowing faux hair, the sculpted details mimicking the thick fur of the gigantic ape are quite a sight to behold.
Completing the package is a light-up feature on, you guessed it, the Battle Axe – charged with the fury of Godzilla’s breath.
The Kong from Godzilla vs. Kong (2021) statues/vinyl figure is available to order now from both Shonen Ric’s US and Japan websites with delivery sometime in May 2022. The asking price is 16,500 yen (or about US$144) stateside. Do note that pre-orders will close on February 08, 2022, at 1700 hours in the U.S.
