LEGO Ideas The Old Fishing Store by Robert Bontenbal

The LEGO NASA Apollo Saturn V (21309) with 1,969 pieces was the biggest LEGO Ideas set when it was first made official, but not for long because, as it turns out, another LEGO Ideas has since snatched the title from it. Announced on May 31 is the LEGO Ideas The Old Fishing Store (21310), a MOC submitted by the Netherlands-based LEGO Ideas member Robert Bontenbal (RobenAnne), is a massive set coming in at a grand 2,049 pieces!

The set has tons of details that make the fishing store comes alive, but instead me regurgitating the details, here are what you can expect straight from the horse’s mouth:

“Find all the gear you need for a fantastic fishing trip at the Old Fishing Store! Walk up the steps from the beach into the shop selling fishing rods, hooks, harpoons, diving equipment, oxygen tanks and much more. Climb the ladder to the top of the watchtower and look through the telescope to enjoy the view. Then relax and read the newspaper in the office. Just make sure the cat or seagulls don’t eat the freshly caught fish hanging outside!”

“The Old Fishing Store is ideal for display and role-play, this model has 2 removable roofs, an opening back wall in the shop for easy access, 4 minifigures, cat and 3 seagull figures, as well as loads of other cool details and elements to fire up the imagination.”

So, there you have it. This one should be a must-have for LEGO building enthusiasts. Look out for it starting September 01, 2017 and also, be prepared to shell out $149.99 (or €149.99/£139.99) for it when it hit the shelves.
