LEGO and Land Rover seems like a match made in LEGO heaven, but yet, we have see just one official product and just one noteworthy MOC. Among the two, only one is actually based on the iconic Defender 110. And even then, not one pays homage to Land Rover Camel Trophy Defender (which usually was a 110, btw).
As it turns out, there is at least one MOC out in wild and the LEGO Land Rover Defender 110 by Manuel Nascimento is one such MOCs. It is an old news, but who cares if this thing first surfaced in 2017 when it looks this good and we have never seen it? And even if we have seen it, this Land Rover Camel Trophy Defender is definitely worthy many more looks.
The set was reportedly created by Manuel Nascimento for the FanWeekend 2017 event in Paredes de Coura, Portugal. This particular LEGO Land Rover MOC was inspired by the legendary Camel Trophy which was held between 1980 and 2000.
Its creator’s country took 2nd place in the competition in 1983 and him, being a LEGO enthusiast and a huge fan of Land Rover Defender, decided to build a LEGO version and the rest, as they say, is history.
Nascimento’s LEGO Land Rover Defender 110 boasts a Power Functions operated winch, functional lights and turn signals made possible through SBrick, a fully decked out interior, and it is outfitted with a 4-speed gearbox. Though Nascimento reckoned that the final build’s 6.5 kilograms (14.33 lbs) heft would be impossible to move.
And oh, you can mount a tent to, to turn it into a super cool, true to the core safari look. Check out Manuel Nascimento on Flickr for more images and other wonderful LEGO MOCs.
