But little did we know that LEGO Technics is an even better match for a naked bike, as this upcoming set, the LEGO Technic Yamaha MT-10 SP (42159), has shown us. The LEGO Technic Yamaha MT-10 SP (42159) is an homage to the Japanese motorcycle maker’s most powerful two-wheeler in the ‘hyper naked’ category.
The Technic elements accurately convey the stripped-back styling naked bikes are known for while showcasing the Yamaha MT-10 SP’s torquey 4-cylinder engine (LEGO Technic version, of course). The 4-cylinder engine is paired with a 3-speed transmission that in itself is loaded with details, including a shift drum, a shift fork, a gear shift ring, and a ratchet drum.
The model further features authentic details like a chain final drive, functional front and rear suspension, functional steering via inputs to the handlebar, a side stand, and a display stand.
When completed, the model measures over 9.5 in. (25 cm) high, 17.5 in. (44 cm) long, and 5.5 in. (15 cm) wide. Your journey does not end with completing the model and exploring the various functional features; it continues with the AR app which lets you experience the model in a different way.
