So many definitive TV shows and films from the 80s have been immortalized in LEGO form, so why should be Jim Henson’s 1982 cult classic, The Dark Crystal be left out? Hopefully not, if LEGO extraordinaire Brent Waller has his way.
Waller has submitted yet another LEGO Ideas project based on the 1982 The Dark Crystal. The set, which has around 1,100 pieces, recreates the world of Thra with key characters including Jen, Kira and Fizzgig.
The proposed set further boasts three important elements that are key to the original film, including the Dark Crystal, Aughra’s Orrery and a rocky exterior scene.
What’s more? Jen, Kira and Fizzgig are not alone; they are accompanied by four other brick built characters: Chamberlain Skeksis (skekSil), Garthim, Mystic, and the long-legged creatures synonymous to The Dark Crystal, Landstrider.
Suddenly, my interest for The Dark Crystal has been rekindled. Now, if you will excuse me, I will need to drop a vote for the LEGO Ideas The Dark Crystal by Brent Waller and then, I shall proceed to watch the acclaimed series The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance for the backstory of the world of Thra on Netflix. OK. Maybe not.
Anyways, if you love The Dark Crystal, why not consider dropping your precious one support for this set?
