LG is giving Dyson a run for its money with two new vacuum cleaners with new mopping capabilities. The first is the LG CordZero A9 Stick Vacuum that does vacuuming and mopping with a single stick-type device and the second is a new dedicated mopping robot called CordZero Robotic Mop.
Both appliances are outfitted with LG’s proprietary Power Drive Mop technology, featuring an advanced automatic water supply system that feeds the right amount of water to the two rapidly rotating mop pads. Users will have the ability to increase, decrease or even choose to completely shit the flow of water.
The stick vacuum is the device that will give the king of stick vacuum, Dyson, a run for its money because, it mops too. Switching between vacuum and mop is as simple as swapping the Power Drive Nozzle and the Power Drive Mop attachment.
Other key highlights include LG’s Smart Inverter Motor, one-touch controls, two quick-change battery packs, and removable, washable filters. Each LG CordZero A9 with Power Drive Mop will come with a multi-type charging stand for charging and docking of the appliance and its accessories.
What’s even more brilliant is, existing owners of the original CordZero A9 can enjoy the mopping function by acquiring the Power Drive Mop upgrade kit.
The LG CordZero Robotic Mop, on the other hand, is LG’s answer to iRobot Braava jet m6 robot mop. So, yes, like iRobot, LG is going with two separate machines for vacuuming and mopping tasks.
In addition to the Power Drive Mop, LG CordZero Robotic Mop is also outfitted with Dual Eye technology that enables it to detect and recognize its surroundings to avoid collisions with furniture and pets. Like any good robot vacuum, users can designate which areas of the house to clean with the LG ThinQ app.
CordZero R9 Robotic Mop is designed to work seamlessly with CordZero R9 Robotic Vacuum. When the R9 is done with vacuuming, it automatically notifies CordZero Robotic Mop with information on areas of the home that required mopping. Now that, my friends, is the future of home cleaning.
No words on when the two appliances will be available and how much they will cost. However, if you are hitting up CES 2020, you can find LG CordZero A9 with Power Drive Mop and CordZero Robotic Mop on display at LG booth (#11100), Central Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center from January 7-10.
