We have seen our fair share of whacky bags. From the Binder Clip handbag to the Metal Bag to the Baguette Bag, we thought we had seen it all. Apparently not. Someone has now turned part of a shopping trolley into a handbag.

And we are not talking about some DIYer’s work. This is an official collaboration between Lidl, the German discount supermarket chain, and designer Nik Bentel Studio.
Aptly called the “Trolley Bag,” it is the second limited-edition handbag from Lidl and Nik Bentel Studio. Inspired by the everyday shopping trolley, it is made from stainless steel (yes, really) just like an actual trolley. It even features a shopping trolley handle in the familiar yellow with the iconic blue and red Lidl branding.
There is also a detachable chain strap for those who prefer to carry it lower or sling it over their shoulder.
Each trolley—no wait, I mean bag—comes with a trolley coin fob. That’s right. It even has space for charms. In fact, pretty much every part of the bag is charm-friendly. After all, it is basically a cage.

This bag is not for everyone. Quite literally. You cannot just walk into a Lidl and pick one up. Those store trolleys are not it.
The Lidl Trolley Bag by Nik Bentel Studio is only available as a prize through a ballot, which unfortunately has already ended. The ballot ran from 10:00 GMT (11:00 CET) on February 26, 2026, to 23:59 GMT on March 1, 2026 (00:59 CET on March 2, 2026).
There were 405 bags up for grabs, with a maximum of one entry per person and one prize per person. The ballot was open to residents of Germany and Great Britain.
Expect to see a few of these floating around on eBay soon.
