You have seen BMW Vision Next 100 and more recently, Rolls-Royce Vision Next 100. Now meet the MINI Vision Next 100 – the last of the three BMW Group’s marque (excluding Motorrad). If you don’t already know, MINI Vision Next 100, like the other two Vision Next 100 Concepts, is a look into what lies ahead for the marque in terms of design and technology. In the case of MINI Vision Next 100, it leans toward car-sharing which the automaker describes as “every MINI is my MINI.” But it won’t be the car-sharing as you have known. MINI users of the future will be able to access and tailor the ride to their own personal likings, wherever and whenever they desire.
Essentially, the future is all about driver-less car, or least, partially autonomous (remember, I, Robot? Yeah, that.) and the MINI Vision Next 100 will be no different. It will be a car which everybody can call up and it will pick the user up from the desired location and when it does so, it will change its appearance, autonomous driving style (even the side of the drive!) and connectivity, presumably, based on a set of parameters set by the user, or God forbids, from data harvested from the user’s everyday connected life. Apparently, the people of future will still have the opportunity to get behind the wheel if they desire, which is a good thing.
It is an exciting prospect, except for the still-in-existence wheels (where’s out flying rides???) and as far as look is concerned, it is going to be very un-MINI. Take a look at the MINI Vision Next 100 concept in the video below, or learn more from the horse’s mouth HERE.
