If the bland look of the PlayStation 5 has stopped you from committing to a unit, and aftermarket shells aren’t your cuppa, then perhaps this Spider-Man theme edition may tickle your fancy. OK. Maybe only if you are a huge fan of Spidey, the PlayStation 5 Console Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Limited Edition Bundle will make sense.
Or perhaps not because I think it looks so gorgeous that you don’t need to be a fan of Spider-Man to appreciate it. Oh wait… I seriously think that the blandness of the white console has lowered our bar way too far…
There have been some PlayStation 5 bundles previously but if I remember correctly, this would be the first PS5 to actually sport an aesthetic makeover. I could be wrong.
The PlayStation 5 Console Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Limited Edition Bundle is presented with a red and black symbiote takeover design. The symbiote is represented here in black (obviously) and it appears to be consuming the red background with a large Marvel Spider-Man logo at the bottom right corner.
On the other side, the entire cover is taken over by the symbiote with a Spider-Man logo in white at the bottom center. The graphic is consistent with the theme of the second installment of the Spider-Man video game on PS5 in which you play as Peter Parker and Miles Morales as they face the ultimate test to save the city from Venom and the symbiote threat.
The same design can also be found on the included Limited Edition DualSense wireless controller Unfortunately, only one controller is included. However, you may purchase an additional Spider-Man-themed DualSense wireless controller at a later date for US$79.99 a pop.
Similarly, the covers are available separately for those who already own a PS5. Best of all, the covers are available for both the disc drive and the digital edition. The covers will be available at a later date for US$64.99. The bundle console is the disc drive version, btw.
Also included in the bundle is a voucher for a digital copy of the game which will be available to download from October 20, 2023, and pre-order incentive items.
The PlayStation 5 Console Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Limited Edition Bundle is available to buy for US$599.99 from PlayStation Direct as we speak. This is the first time PlayStation has partnered with Spider-Man to release a PlayStation Spider-Man bundle. Sony did it a few years ago with the PlayStation 4.
