The benevolent, self-sacrificing leader of the Autobots, Optimus Prime, has been many things—even as chibi-fied figures like a rubber ducky and BE@RBRICKs. But I bet it is never as adorable as the MEGA SPACE MOLLY Optimus Prime. It is quite possibly the cutest take on the Autobot leader yet.
The puffy-lipped, big-eyed Molly by Hong Kong designer Kenny Wong has suited up in Prime’s signature red-and-blue, complete with cel-shaded windows. Of course, this isn’t Molly’s first pop culture transformation—she’s been an RX-78-2, Garfield, EVA Unit-01, and more. But this? This is next-level cute. With the visor up, it’s just Molly playing dress-up. With the visor down, it’s a wonderfully round, chibi-fied Optimus Prime, complete with the iconic forehead vents and battle mask.
The POP MART Space Molly JOY Series Optimus Prime will be available in 400% and 1000% sizes. POP MART officially announced it on the 24th, saying it’s “coming soon,” but we already spotted a retailer on Taobao listing them for 1,489 yuan and 6,799 yuan [CH] (which is around 205 USD and 937 USD), respectively. That’s about what you’d expect for collab Molly figures—adorably expensive, but totally worth it.
