While Samsung has been making smartwatches for a while now, it never really has a model that is marketed specifically for an outdoor active lifestyle, and that’s until Samsung Galaxy Watch5 Pro comes along.
“Outdoor active lifestyle” is not limited to a rugged watch with a sapphire crystal and titanium case, and a 60% larger battery but also software that favors the outdoor with features like GPX for downloading hiking and cycling routes, turn-by-turn directions, TrackBack function et cetera.
Meanwhile, the Samsung Galaxy Watch5 while looking like its predecessor but in reality, it has received some design changes, including a case back with a wider contact area to achieve a more accurate reading for the BioActive sensor.
The Galaxy Watch5 is also treated to the tough sapphire crystal paired to an “armor aluminum” case, and it is outfitted with a 13% large battery. Like the Galaxy Watch4, it is offered in a choice of 40 mm and 44 mm case sizes.
Both devices are powered by Samsung Exynos W920 dual-core 1.18 GHz processor, paired with 1.5 GB RAM and 16 GB internal storage.

The Samsung Galaxy Watch5 Pro starts at US449 for the Bluetooth version and US$499 for the LTE version. As for the Samsung Galaxy Watch5, it has a starting price of US$279 for the Bluetooth version and US$329 for the LTE version. Both the Galaxy Watch5 Pro and Watch5 will be available on August 26.
