Sony ZV-E1 Full-frame Interchangeable Lens Camera

If you are a vlogger who is rolling good money and still using a smartphone to do the job, you may want to consider upping your game by investing in this latest vlogging rig from Sony, the Sony ZV-E1 Full-frame Interchangeable Lens Camera.

While the first vlogging-focused camera introduced two years ago was relatively affordable, the latest incarnation is on the opposite spectrum. It is an entirely different ball game strictly for serious video creators who have the dole to drop. But more on that in a bit.

Billed as the world’s most compact, lightweight full-frame interchangeable lens camera, the new Sony ZV-E1 is rocking a 35 mm full-frame back-illuminated CMOS Exmor R sensor, with approximately 12.1 effective megapixels. It is paired with the latest BIONZ XR image processing engine and benefits from a dedicated AI processing unit.

The new image processing engine is said to have up to 8x more processing power over the previous processors, which allows the processing of a high volume of data generated in real time, even when shooting at 4K at 120p.

The new camera also touts improved AF speed and accurate skin tone critical for vlogging and product reviews.

The interchangeable lens mount is compatible with over 70 Sony E-mount lenses.

Other notables include smooth 5x slow-motion imagery, 15+ stop latitude, ISO range of 80 to 102400 for stills and movies (expanded range: 40-409600 for stills and 80-409600 for movies), Cinema Vlog Settings, in-camera time-lapse creation, in-body image stabilization, and a side-opening vari-angle 3-inch type 1.07 Mdot LCD touchscreen – just to name a few.

Oh, we have to mention that the ZV-E1 is dust and moisture-resistant.

The new Sony ZV-E1 Full-frame Interchangeable Lens Camera is set hit the shelves sometime in May 2023 for an estimated retail price of US$2,199.99. A kit variation including the compact full-frame 28-60 mm F4.5-5.6 zoom lens is also available for an estimated retail price of US$2,499.99.
