Star Wars x Eastpak Bag Collection

There have been countless collaborations between brands and pop culture icons. Sadly, though, many such collaborations are nothing but half-hearted efforts, involving only colors or just slapping on the pop culture icon’s branding on existing goods. However, this new collab between veteran American bag maker Eastpak and Star Wars ranks among one of the most sincere collaborative efforts yet because it has this: Padded Pak’R SW Chewbacca.

With Padded Pak’R SW Chewbacca, the bag maker’s iconic silhouette is treated to the look and feel of Chewbacca’s lush fur. And mind you. This fuzzy fur is not a print; it is an actual soft fuzzy fabric with appropriate color variations that look like they have ripped out of Chewbacca.

This resulted in a not necessarily practical but most definitely a head-turning fluffy bag—or should I say, furry bag. The bag boasts a padded laptop sleeve that fits most 14-inch devices, a zip-fastening front pocket in the main compartment, adjustable shoulder straps, and a padded back panel.

There are two other Padded Pak’R models available: SW Light Side and SW Darkside. While not as outstanding as the Chewy-themed backpack, they are just as impressive. There is no print here. The “graphics” are formed through stitching.

The SW Darkside is presented in black with red stitching and accents and features repeating silhouettes of the stormtroopers and the Sith lord Darth Vader. In the spirit of the regimental Imperial Military, these silhouettes are arranged neatly in rows and plastered all over the bag.

Meanwhile, the SW Lightside is presented in white with blue stitching and accents and is rocking the outline of the heroes of the Rebel forces, including Princess Leia, Luke Skywalker, and R2-D2. Like the SW Darkside, these ain’t no graphics. They are stitching.

There is also a handful of Star Wars graphics Day Office backpack and Day Pak’R, as well as a waist bag aka fanny pack, a Transit’r Pack backpack, and a Stormtrooper-themed Resist’r Case suitcase fit for your trips to the Tatooine. Also fit for traveling across the galaxy on a Millennium Falcon is the Transit’r S cabin size 2-wheel travel trolley, and Transit’r  L large 2-wheel trolley—both rocking TSA lock.

And then there is a crossbody bag featuring Yoda’s headshot, complete with outstretched ears that transitioned to the band. Very cool. These are not it. There are more. But I shall leave it to you to explore the collection HERE and HERE.
