Good news! Fans of Samsung and Android, the wait is finally over. After much rumors and official teaser, the new Samsung flagships, Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge, have been officially unwrapped at the Mobile World Congress 2016 at Barcelona. The duo boasts advanced camera features, water resistance, and the much missed external memory. Aesthetically, both S7 and S7 Edge both touts 3D glass and metal, a design language inherited from its predecessors announced at the same event last year. While they may look similar to the former flagships, these new devices are now IP68 rated for water and dust resistant, giving them an edge in real world usage. BLU Unveils Affordable Super Battery Handsets with 30 Days Standby

So you think the battery woes of smartphone has behind us? Well, not quite. They have been shrouded… by the myriad of portable batteries. However, not all hope is lost. There are still handsets that pack large capacities and surprisingly, even some that’s very affordable. The BLU Studio Energy 2 and BLU Energy X Smartphones are two examples. The Studio Energy 2 packs 5,000 mAh battery, the largest of any smartphone today, while the Energy X gets a 4,000 mAh. Oppo Introduces R7 Plus, a Slim Huge Phone with a Huge Battery Pack

Don’t ask how we managed to miss this beautiful handset coming from Chinese handset maker Oppo. We don’t have the answer, but I guess it is better late than never, right? Dubbed R7 Plus, this latest Android device from Oppo is HUGE, packing a glorious 6-inch Super AMOLED display with 2.5D arc surface (basically, a fancy name for curve edge glass) and despite its super slim 7.75 mm thinness, the Chinese handset maker managed to squeeze a 4,100 mAh lithium-polymer battery in it. Power comes from a Qualcomm MSM8939 chip with octa-core processor (four cores clocking at 1.5GHz and another four at 1GHz), backed by 3GB of RAM. Storage comes in at 32GB, but can be further expanded with the use of microSD card. Speaking of microSD card, this same slot is also a SIM card tray if you’re going for its dual SIM functionality. nubia Z9 Becomes the First Handset to Sport True ‘’Bordeless’ Design

Bordeless display is a mark of futuristic hardware, but whether is it practical on our hands on devices like a smartphone is remain to be seen. However, the unknown does not deter nubia, a sub-brand of handset giant ZTE Corporation, from taking a bold dive into the first, true bordeless design. Dubbed Z9, this latest flagship smartphone is void of bezel on the long sides of the phone and boast some serious tech that makes it worthy of being called a futuristic phone. Equipped with a 5.2-inch Full HD display with arc Refractive Conduction (aRC) technology which is said to offer better visual effects over its competitions. While borderless may prove to be a nuisance when use with handheld touchscreen device, ZTE said that users of the Z9 will find it easier to hold as it is more ergonomic, which might be due in part that the handset is longish. Nuu Introduces Its First Flagship Unlock Android Smartphone with Octacore Processor, Cost Just $300

We used to look forward to Nexus smartphone every year, because they were affordable and often top spec, but as we all know, that affordability has ended with Nexus 6. However, our hope for a top-spec device at an affordable price point is not lost, thanks to a handful smartphone makers and the latest to join the ‘revolution’ is Nuu. Of course, Nuu isn’t new in the market, but its latest addition, the Z8 smartphone, is touted as the firm’s flagship unlocked Android smartphone. Those are two terms we are looking for: flagship and unlock, which means you can expect more than decent specifications and no contract obligation. I wouldn’t say is the top-spec device, but at $300, unlocked and contract-free, it is really something, nonetheless. as always, ARCHOS can’t wait to show off a some new gadgets at the upcoming IFA 2014, which will throw open its door on Friday, September 6. the lineup includes an Android handset and a tablet, a Windows phone and a Windows tablet, plus three connected objects that will expand ARCHOS Smart Home concept. kicking off the line up is an Android smartphone, the ARCHOS 50b Platinum, which is powered by a Media MT6582 chip with a 1.3GHz quad-core processor and touting an ultra bright 5-inch QHD IPS display. the 50b Platinum also features dual SIM support, Full HD video recording, “ultra-precise” 8MP main shooter with LED flash and a 2MP front-facing camera. it will runs on Android KitKat and comes standard with interchangeable back case, a protective cover, and a 8GB micro SD card – all for just $149. there is also a smaller version, 45c Platinum, hitting the stores in September for $129. BLU Products Announced Two Flagships Powered By Octa-Core Processors

super phone is the seldom heard words in the world of smartphone, but that won’t stop BLU Products from claiming its new flagships, the LIFE 8 and VIvo IV, as super phones. and to top that off, it also stake the claim as the first mobile devices to be available in Americas with “true octa-core mobile processing.” both devices are powered by MediaTek’s MT6592 SoC featuring an advanced eight-core processor and Mali 450-MP4 GPU, promising “industry-leading multimedia capabilities and excellent power efficiency.” kicking off the duo is the Vivo IV, now into its fourth iterations, sporting a 5-inch Super AMOLED Full HD display with protection offered by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. it has 2GB RAM and 16GB onboard memory, but no mention of expansion slot, so we are assuming it is a no, which means you will have live with the meagre 16GB.
