Magnetic Switch Cover for $24.95 or make yourself one

there is nothing magical here. the Magnetic Switch Cover is your regular switch cover plate (US) integrated with a high power magnet underneath. so what good does it do? well, it will hold your keys when you step into the room and (the keys) be ready for you when you are heading out – unless your keys and key ring are made out of plastics. as Glenn Santos has noted, this probably is just a “semi-gadget” (or half gadget, if you like) but if it were to incorporate with a subtle glow night light or sort, then it would probably justify the hassle involves in changing switch cover. reducing your carbon footprint is easy – you can start by riding a bicycle for your daily grocery shopping routine but there is just one problem: you can’t carry very much on a two wheeler, hence Instructables member Ryan McFarland aka Zieak came up with a brilliant idea by mashing a disused shopping cart with a bicycle. the result is what Zieak dubbed as Cart Bike. with this bicycle-shopping cart hybrid, you can not only acquire a whole cart worth of groceries enough to feed a platoon but you will be going to turn heads too, though it will not be such a good corner turner according to Zieak. hey, you are not in for a grocery bike Grand Prix so why worry? besides, with the shopping cart’s four wheels, it’s definitely going to be way more stable then your traditional two wheeler. pretty neat, huh? want one? well, you can’t grab one off the shelf but you can get your hands dirty by following Zieak’s instructions as laid out on Instructables. this is first for this blog: featuring a chicken coop. i find this chicken coop constructed from cedar woods too beautiful to give it a pass. i favor chicken’s eggs but am no fan of chicken themselves. anyway, frenchkitchen posted on instructables a custom chicken coop that he constructed for his bunch of lovely chickens and apparently, the environment is so conducive that he is getting an egg a day from each of the chicken. ever try playing a game of chess in the dark (for whatever reasons)? now here’s chess set that let you do just that. instructables’ member Tetranitrate got a little bored with his glass chess set that picked up from a local arcade and toyed with the idea of illuminating the glass pieces. after much deliberation and planning, this is what he came up with: a LED Chess Set. these chess pieces stay lighted as long as they are on the board, thanks to its custom conductive chessboard and positive contacts on each chess piece. the board is powered by a wall outlet. i guess this project could act as your decorative light in your lovely home too or you could make it as a night light and leave it on for the night.
